Nebez used to be one of the Kingdoms of Frouland, but split off from the other kingdoms 200 years ago during the Wars of Splits. It has since separated itself into eight different tribes, making up Nebez as a whole. For the first hundred years, the tribes in Nebez came and went often, especially after Yuci split off, but in the last 100 years the current eight have established strong governments holding lands in Nebez. Each tribe is associated with a class of animals.
The "Old" in the name is both a way of establishing Nebez's legitimacy and legacy, as it had a unique culture even while it was part of Frouland, and to distinguish itself from Yuci, which some see as the "New" Nebez.
