Magic
There are two types of magic:
- Sprausic is magic which manipulates inorganic materials like stone, dirt, (dead) wood, air, sand, cloth, water, fire, glass, etc. Anything which doesn't grow from a plant or animal, or has been dead for long enough, is fair game. It is named after Wren Spraus, the first user of the type of magic and King of Frouland.
- Corsic is magic which manipulates living or recently living organic materials like blood, skin, bones, hair, stems, leaves, wood, etc. Anything which grows from a plant or animal is fair game, as long as it has been alive recently. It is named after Keskov Corsin, the first user of the type of magic and liberator of Nebez.
These types of magic are purposefully open-ended; there are lots of sub-types within Sprausic and Corsic magic, and skills with one type does not necessarily mean skills with other types.
There are two ways to learn how to use magic; learning how to cast spells and channel magical energy through knowledge of physical processes and willpower to imagine very specific transformations, or drinking the blood of those who had adept ability with magic, a process called Sin-Eating which allows one to temporarily gain magic through intuition.
