Welcome to Hearthome!

Hearthome (Hearth-um) is my lil brain-child project and the current setting for my TTRPG campaign I am running (If you're one of my players, hi!). Hearthome is the name of the planet; Polistet is the name of the main and, currently, only continent, though I may add more in the future. The environments of Hearthome range tremendously, from brutal post-apocalyptic tundras riddled with looters and mutated bugs to high-fantasy kingdoms with dragons and colorfully armored knights. The magic system is inspired by ATLA bending and telekinetic abilities from other media.

I'm currently working hard to implement all my notes from various spaces across five years. If you see anything like this, I'm planning on making a page there but haven't got to it yet. Here's my website's To-Do List.

Map of Polistet, the only continent on the planet Hearthome

Here's a cool map I made using Azgaar's Fantasy Map Generator! (Normally this map is interactive, but your broswer's too thin. Try using a laptop or something to make your screen wider!

Here's a cool map I made using Azgaar's Fantasy Map Generator, with clickable areas! (Though only a couple of them work so far...) (You can click the titles floating in the ocean for details on whole countries, while each bordered area represents individual sections of those countries).

The setting is a space for me to explore unique ideas I've had in the past couple years about what I think would be pretty cool in a fantasy world. I like magic which operates logically, so I've tried to implement a "natural philosophy" approach to it, implementing the manipulation of matter in as close to sensically of a system as I can. Thus, the world is run by trade mages who use their mental abilities to manipulate the world through their knowledge of the workings of the physical world, and research into the workings of magic feel rational and academic.

I also think fantasy religions too often go the route of "we know God's real because I met her last Tuesday," and I want to mimic something closer to the real world, where many people have differing interpretations about the world's mysterious workings, and their religions highly reflect the values of the culture they live in already. This isn't to say there necessarily aren't any gods; it's just that no one knows who those gods are, or if there are any.

Complex relationships between the four states (Frouland, Nebez, Yuci, and Sam) create interesting events and figures in the world and its history. This is one of the things I desire to expand on the most. I have some OCs and lore work done, but it's been worked on over the past, like, 5 years, so it's kind of all over the place. This website is largely so I can finally organize everything together. (But just the public-facing parts of the lore. Gotta make sure there are still a couple secrets for my players to find :3)

I also try my hardest to reinvent or completely fabricate the species in my world. There are, of course, humans, but there are also many other interesting beings which roam the lands of Hearthome, including the Golemo, Quast, Animi, Afrets, Anbeter, etc., all homebrewed species which are usually based on whatever cool things I found recently on Pinterest.

If you're looking for anything on the website, you can access it from the links on the sidebar for Locations, Characters, and other Documents. If you want me to add something, feel free to ask me. If you don't know how to reach me, I probably don't care to hear from you anyways :P

I'm not a hobby programmer, I'm trying to mostly just stick to gimmicky stuff I can figure out pretty easily, but otherwise this is for my writing. If there are bugs, don't @ me, idrc unless it's breaking everything.
